In 1978, Nick Barbieri left his job as a mattress builder in a small Toronto Factory to begin his new journey by opening his own mattress store called The Sleep Factory in Kitchener, Ontario. Nick soon decided to focus on opening more retail stores throughout small cities in Ontario and selling mattresses that were built locally.  He soon after decided to open his own manufacturing plant to build Canadian made mattresses and furniture.  His goal was to manufacture products with high quality materials with attention to detail at affordable prices. Products built by Canadians for Canadians. With a strong focus on customer service, Nick along with his son John grew The Sleep Factory into a small business success story.
