About Salisbury Landscaping Sherwood Park

In 1965, Helen Sproule started growing bedding plants in her garage as a hobby. She soon realized she had too many plants for her own use and began selling them to friends and neighbours.

The demand for her quality plants grew quickly and three short years later, Fred Sproule left his full-time job to work with his wife in what became the Salisbury Greenhouse family business in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

A FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS

Salisbury Greenhouse employed all of Helen & Fred’s six children who happily helped out in the business from a young age.

Bob Sproule, the oldest son, came to work full-time at the greenhouse in 1975.

Salisbury began operating year-round in the 1970’s and early 1980’s.
